Informing climate-resilient development: the application of cost-benefit analysis (CBA) in PACC programme - experiences and lessons learned on capacity building (PTR1)

This report (PACC Technical Report 1 - PTR1) sets out the evaluation findings of the capacity-building components of the PACC CBA work programme.  A separate report, PACC Technical Report no. 2, sythesises the CBA reports completed under the work programme, and assesses the effectiveness of these CBAs for improving selection and design of the PACC pilot projects.

Background paper - Pacific Cost-Benefit Analysis Initiative (P-CBA)

Purpose

This background paper describes a collaborative effort by CROP and international development partners to respond to demands for improving economic assessment of policies and related interventions that have implications for natural resource planning, budgeting and management. It seeks expressions of interest to participate in a proposed strategic capacity building program as a way to support Pacific island governments achieve informed decision making.

This report has been developed to summarise and communicate the key outputs and learnings of the cost-benefit analysis (CBA) work programme as part of the Global Environment Facility's Special Climate Change Fund (GEF-SCCF) and AusAID-funded Pacific Adaptation to Climate Change (PACC) programme.

UNDP Lao PDR – Baseline Survey Report for Government Agencies at the Central, Provincial and District Levels

 

This baseline survey report was developed to monitor the progress of the project titled “Improving the Resilience of the Agriculture Sector in Lao PDR to Climate Change Impacts.” The survey covering 18 governmental organizations at the three levels, assessed the current climate change adaptation capacities of policymakers and technical officers in relevant sectors.

This baseline survey report was developed to monitor the progress of the project titled “Improving the Resilience of the Agriculture Sector in Lao PDR to Climate Change Impacts.” The baseline was implemented in two parts – one focusing on farmers and the other on supporting sectors. The survey assesses the current adaptive capacities of the farming population in Xayaboury Province of Lao PDR.
