Papua New Guinea to develop online monitoring tool for national Disaster Risk Reduction Framework 2017-2030

In support of implementation of the national Disaster Risk Reduction Framework 2017-2030, the PNG National Disaster Centre, in close collaboration with UNDP, UNISDR and Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre (ADPC) has organized a series of workshops in Port Moresby. Attended by twenty representatives from government agencies, academia, partner agencies, NGOs, faith-based organisations, civil society organisations and the private sector, the workshops focused on NDRRF/the Sendai Monitoring and Reporting Tool. "In the wake of climate change, Papua New Guinea continues to experience disasters of increased frequency and magnitude,  impacting the lives of ordinary Papua New Guineans, our economy, environment and infrastructure," said Edward Vrkic, UNDP Senior Climate Change Advisor.
