Side event objectives
Particular attention was given to innovative and systems-level multi-stakeholder approaches and partnerships between private sector entities, government institutions, international organizations, researchers and civil society actors to scale up efforts needed to implement, assess and achieve countries’ NDCs and NAPs targets in agrifood systems.
It also highlighted country perspectives, challenges and lessons in designing and implementing climate solutions in agrifood systems as part of NDC and NAP priorities.

The session started with opening remarks and an overview of untapped opportunities for strengthening the implementation of NDCs and NAPs for agrifood systems transformation by Julie Teng, Adaptation Planning Specialist and Global SCALA Programme Coordinator, UNDP.
Then, a panel of government, civil society, and private sector representatives discussed how they can better drive transformation in agrifood systems. Participants heard country perspectives, challenges, and lessons learned in applying systems approaches and strengthening multi-stakeholder collaboration for planning, financing, and implementing agrifood systems priorities in NDC and NAPs.
