With support from the Global Environment Facility's Least Developed Countries Fund and UN Development Programme, Guinea has launched a project to strengthen climate monitoring capacity, early warning systems, and information for responding to climate shocks and adaptation planning. The project will contribute to, among others, SDGs 1 (no poverty), 2 (zero hunger), 5 (gender equality), 11 (sustainable cities and communities), 12 (responsible consumption and production), 13 (climate action) and 15 (life on land). The project will install more than 100 meteorological and hydrological stations, and data captured will feed into information and forecasts to inform policymakers, government officials and farmers.
