Zimbabwe: Gwanda solar project gives lifeline to 10,000 people

Around 2,800 households in Gwanda South, Zimbabwe, are set to benefit from a solar power project which will power three irrigation schemes, a clinic as well as five business centres. The project, jointly funded by the European Union, United Nations Development Programme, OPEC Fund for International Development, and Global Environmental Facility is being implemented by Practical Action, SNV, CARD and Dabane Trust, with the support of government ministries and departments.
