The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) conducted a series of three workshops with participation of more than 60 representatives of national agencies and local public associations to discuss preliminary results of vulnerability assessment and adaptation to climate change in local communities of Lebap and Dashoguz regions. The assessment was held during six months of 2016-2017 within UNDP project “Supporting climate resilient livelihoods in agricultural communities in drought-prone areas of Turkmenistan” funded by the Special Climate Change Fund (SCCF) of the Global Environment Facility. The goal of the assessment is to determine how climate change hinders socio-economic development.
