Least Developed Countries (LDCs) face disproportionate challenges from climate change, which constrains both human and economic development. Decisions taken at the UNFCCC Conference of the Parties (COP)—on finance, adaptation, mitigation, technology, and capacity building—have far-reaching implications for LDCs. This publication underscores the importance of effective engagement by LDCs in intergovernmental climate negotiations to ensure their needs and priorities are fairly represented and integrated into global climate action. It also highlights the necessity of building capacity for LDCs to participate in decision-making and to implement outcomes that directly affect their development pathways.
