Gender Sensitive Data Indicators for Project: Establishing Transparency Framework for the Republic of Serbia

UNDP Serbia, acting as an implementing agency of the Global Environment Facility has been providing assistance to the Serbian Government, namely the Ministry of Environmental Protection, in the preparation and implementation of the GEF-funded projects 'Second Biennial Update Report and Third National Communication under the UNFCCC' (2BUR-3NC) and 'Establishing Transparency Framework for the Republic of Serbia' (CBIT). Both projects will result in an improved system of monitoring, reporting and verification of data and information to be used by the Government in implementing climate & energy legislation and feeding in the reporting processes and obligations arising out of various international treaties, such as UNFCCC and EU commitments. The projects are also expected to accelerate Serbia’s EU accession process in the area of environment, energy and climate change, contributing to creation of enabling policy and institutional environment for effective implementation of relevant EU Acquis and related national legal acts.

The objective of this report - published in December 2019 - is to contribute to gender mainstreaming in reporting on climate change, thereby contributing to the strengthening the ability of the Republic of Serbia to address the threat of climate change in gender responsive manner.
