Gender and Social Inclusion Strategy

The SCALA Gender and Social Inclusion (GSI) Strategy defines the programme’s GSI targets and outlines the GSI interventions at country and global levels that will be implemented to ensure the transformative climate solutions supported by the programme respond to the needs, interests, and challenges of marginalized women and men and result in equitable benefits. Inequity is seen as a powerful barrier to climate action because it reinforces vulnerability to climate change impacts and also prohibits participation in making changes through mitigation or adaptation. The Programme thus promotes whole-of-government approaches through purposive multi-stakeholder engagement and consultation.
